Our condolences to the family and friends of Alejandro Tello, an 18-year-old skateboarder from the Gravesend area of Brooklyn who was killed in a hit-and-run accident yesterday. The accident occurred at the intersection of West 10th Street and Avenue T (just a few blocks from his home). The driver of the white BMW X5 SUV was turning as Alejandro skated into the side of the car eventually getting run over. The driver proceeded without stopping but other drivers and witnesses rushed to Alejandro’s aid. He was taken to the hospital with severe head trauma but was pronounced dead hours later. The SUV was found and the police are investigating who was driving.

Update: In addition to this horrible news we heard about another skateboarder death, this time in Forest Hills on Union Turnpike near Grand Central Parkway. Kevin Zeng of Bayside was struck by the Q46 bus while chasing after his runaway board Friday evening. He passed a few hours later at Jamaica Hospital. Our condolences to Kevin’s family and friends.
