It’s hard to believe that the second Maloof Money Cup is just around the corner for New York. On June 4th and 5th, skateboarding’s top pros & ams will compete at Flushing Meadows Corona Park for a shot to win $160k. For our second Maloof Monday, let’s take a look back at some of the videos & photos we shot at last year’s competition so you can see what to expect this time around.

To start, here are interviews with Joe Maloof, Geoff Rowley, Steve Rodriguez and Remy Stratton answering some questions about the contest and the new park.

Some photos from the ground breaking ceremony:

A few months later it was time to cut the ribbon:

The first day of the contest was amazing:

The second day was even better:

One of last year’s most memorable tricks: Luis Toelentino’s huge 180:

Each section of the park was modeled after a famous NY spot. Here’s a montage using some skating from the contest to show you around the park:

Overall we had such a great time and watched some of the biggest, techest and most stylish skating go down right in front of our eyes. We can’t wait to see what will go down in 2011!

Starting today, we’re giving away tickets to this year’s Maloof Money Cup on the NYSB Facebook page – check it out!
