It seems some people have forgotten they live in New York City. An 80 year old guy named Dia (presumably seen below) has collected 50 signatures in a letter he sent to the parks department asking them to enforce a 10pm curfew at Cooper Skatepark.
Gwynne Hogan has written an article detailing accounts from a few whiney neighbors and one voice of reason coming from 30 year old skater ironically named Luis Cooper. Police have said they are keeping an eye on the situation. Hopefully any further response will come with the same speed the city has shown when it comes to reopening the Brooklyn Banks. you know, what I deal with at home is all night construction and I can’t do jack shit about that because they have a permit. Maybe we could just buy a permit to skate after midnight and then they don’t have a case anymore. Just call 311 and have them say “sorry there’s nothing we can do” 🙂
