SHUT/Zoo York’s original creative genius – Eli Morgan Gesner recently found the original music tracks he produced for classic East Coast skate video including: Peep This, Heads and the E.S.T. series. These original tracks have been lost for almost 20 years until they surfaced in his West Coast storage unit last month. We met up with him and RB Umali at the SHUT shop to have some beers and talk about how they met, making the videos and the early Zoo York days. We also got to learn about the unique process Eli used to create the hard-hitting beats – considered as ISM or Intelligent Skate Music.

All of the tracks are available on SoundCloud.com/ocularge as a gift from Eli to skate nerds of all ages. Below is the playlist for Peep This, originally put out in 1999 by RB Umali, Eli Morgan Gesner for Zoo York. Big thanks to Eli, RB and Michael Cohen for making this happen.

Here is the bulk majority of all the songs I made for the original Zoo York videos from around 1995 – 2003. All created for me explicitly to be used as background music for RB’s videos. That is also why they all run kind of long. Because we had no idea how long the final edited skateboard parts were going to end up. So feel free to scrub through or fast forward. Also – This entire playlist is in random order because I had no idea anyone would be listening to them in the 21st century over the internet when I made them because I can’t see the future. May I also suggest playing all this at your local skatepark or TF while you and your friends are all skating. That would kick ass! Feel free to steal whatever you want for whatever you want. Just give me credit kindly.
