Last night Alex Corporan and I hosted “Go Skateboarding Night”  at Sensei Gallery Bar in the lower east side of downtown Manhattan.

After the GSD session at the newly renovated LES skate park was over, the New York City skateboarding community gathered together at Sensei for what turned out to be one of the most epic nights I can remember in NYC skateboarding history.

Embraced by his family, friends and sponsors, Staten Island New York’s very own Leo Heinert was epicly surprised last night as he entered into the Sensei Gallery Bar venue. Leo’s parents were at the forefront of the madness, each holding a deck in their arms while everyone around them began screaming out loud at the top of their lungs. Chanting out his name  “LEO! LEO! LEO!” as he was rewarded with the well earned and highly deserved status of being TORRO! skateboards newest professional.

Rizzo’s Pizza provided the food, Drink tickets were handed out throughout the night, trivia contests and product tosses took place thanks to the supporting sponsors DC shoes, Arizona Iced Tea, Rock Star Bearings and EL Señor New York. Carolyn Zuzworsky of CD Skate Shop brought cake and the night ended beautifully in honor of Leo Heinert going pro on go skateboarding day! Congratulations Leo!

Leo’s debut pro models will be available soon at a skate shop near you. For more information or if you’re a shop and want to place an order, contact info@torronyc.com
