Etnies sent us over the new Jameson Vulc mid-top shoes to try out and I gotta say I’m really enjoying them. After the first time skating in them, they have quickly become my number one go to in the rotation. At first, I couldn’t help but feel like I was walking around with what resembled a pair of Free Willy’s on my feet. Despite the colorway of a Killer whale, I’ve always been partial to the simplicity of black and white shoes. They go with whatever outfit you happen to be be rocking that day.
These broke in right off the bat. The materials are durable enough to last you a while and make the shoes really comfortable. This past weekend I played tour guide to friends from out of town. After three days of walking all over the city my feet are still in good shape. I find that alone impressive for a skate shoe in the era of vulcanized domination. I always was partial to cup soles for that “walking on clouds” feeling.
Overall, Etnies has put out a great quality shoe that is perfect for overuse as we head into the Spring/Summer months. An extra thing to note about these shoes is the artwork on the insoles. Nick Garcia puts his name on these bad boys and gets a pretty sick little artwork to let people know in a subtle way. Give them a try, for more information check them out online or in a shop near you.
