Every year there is a steady stream of gimmicks that come out in skateboarding. These new products claim to “change the game” and revolutionize the way we look at the products. Creature, more known for their fiends than their tech, has come out with a new construction for decks they call a “VX” deck. They say each VX deck is constructed with 5-plys of hard rock North American Maple and reinforced by two layers of patented Quad X Technology material on either side. They claim this makes these decks lighter, stronger, and best of all, that they maintain a longer-lasting pop. What I like best is they send David Gravette out with a cardboard sign and $50 bucks challenging random people to break the board. Fun to watch and makes me want to try one of these boards out to see how long they last here in New York.
