On March 14th, 2012 a teen named Billy Schettino was accidentally struck & killed by a Suffolk County Sheriff’s patrol car. We recently found out that the Billy was a Long Island skateboarder who frequently skated “The Wastelands” spot in Blue Point. His friends are now lobbying to get a skate park built in that abandoned parking lot (formerly Blue Point Laundry) as a memorial. Sayville-Bayport Patch has the full story. Please help Billy’s friends out and sign the petition.
