We received a special Vans promo box for Chima Ferguson’s new shoe – The Chima Pro 2. inside the box is two layers; the first layer nicely displays a Vans ULTRACUSH LITE 3D insole along with a sample of their DURACAP material. They also included some promo material and a Chima mask. The second layer split into two compartments: one for the shoes and another for Chima Colorblock longs sleeve t-shirt.

Compared to the original Chima Pro the Chima Pro 2’s appear more tech but they’re still canvas with leather accents. Vans upgraded a few things inside the shoe. The ULTRACUSH LITE 3D insole is lighter, has a dual-density foam footbed and they improved the heel cup. The new version also has more DURACAP reinforcement rubber to improve overall durability. The new Chima Pro 2’s just became available in shops worldwide this weekend and retail for around $75.

On Thursday night, Vans celebrated the launch with Chima himself this weekend at the House of Vans in Brooklyn. The night included and open skate with new Chima inspired obstacles, DJ set by the one and only Stretch Armstrong, free food and drinks… ending with a live performance by Weyes Blood. It was great seeing all the shop heads in town, thanks again Vans for hosting another great event!
