The NY Skateboarding community had reason to celebrate rather than protest this weekend. The petition that went around after the Parks department announcement made the impact we all hoped for. The effort to save this beloved patch of flatground was successful, Tompkins Square Park will remain as is. It has been remarkable to witness this accomplishment, everyone who signed the petition and spoke up coming together to make this happen. We’re psyched to be able to continue skating here, but even more so to be apart of such a strong and outspoken faction of people. So, congratulations! We did it! Now go skate.
