This past Saturday we headed up to River Ave skate park (157th St x River Ave) in the Bronx for the sixth annual Battle For The Bronx contest. The weather was perfect, the crowd was live and park was packed out with kids trying to take home some of the $2k cash prizes. Steve Rodriguez (5Boro) ran the event with Rodney Torres (TORRO!) managing the judging along with Rob Campbell (New Breed). Kids went hard through multiple rounds of heats until it came down to the finals where the level of skateboarding popped off. In the end Leo Heinert took first place making $1k in cash. We’ve got some photos below and our video recap will go up later today.

Big thanks to all the sponsors (Nike, Indigenous Skateboards, 5Boro, Vault Skate Shop, Harold Hunter Foundation & Zoo York) and a special thanks to Bert Correa for keeping the Battle For The Bronx contest going 6 years strong!
