Six years ago, Homage Skateshop in Brooklyn partnered with DC Shoes and UXA to throw an event in honor of Bastille Day. Hosted by Jefferson Pang, they ran a manual contest, highest ollie, best trick out front of Homage. The theme for the day came from the annual French holiday celebrating the storming of a fortress-prison where people could be held captive for no other reason than that the King said so. It was a revolution. As far as revolutions in skateboarding go, we’d like to see these type of events make a comeback.
