Steve Rodriguez has announced the official locations for this year’s Go Skateboarding Day in NYC main event presented by Nike SB, Labor and KCDC. It begins at Golconda skatepark (formerly “Fat Kid”) around noon then everyone will make their way over to LES/Coleman skatepark around 3pm. The day will be full of best trick contests, guest appearances and of course giveaways.
Adult Go Skateboarding Day (21+)
For the older skateboarders there will be another Adult Go Skateboarding Day. It starts at 169 Bar around noon then kicks off with a slappy session at LES BOCA. They’ll continue to head over into BK via the Bridge Bar, Continental Army Plaza, BK Wearhouse, McCarren skatepark then to the Turkeys Nest. Later in the evening will be the SKATEBOARDING WORKS photo/art show in Greenpoint BK (more info below).
Skateboarding Works Photo/Art/Video Show
SKATEBOARDING WORKS is a photo, art and video show presented by SUPRA, SHUT and Life Valet featuring work by skateboarders in celebration of Go Skateboarding Day. 20% of the show’s proceeds will go to the Harold Hunter Foundation. It’s at Point Green Studio from 6pm – 9pm.
Adult Learn to Skateboard Day (18+)
Life Valet (Michael Cohen) has setup another Adult Learn to Skateboard Day with the help of SUPRA and SHUT giving adults (18+) some free skateboarding lessons. If you’re interested head over to the American Playground in Greenpoint Brooklyn around 9:30am and check it out.
